Don't miss this change to meet Jon Wongrey, the legendary outdoors writer from Sumter, South Carolina, at his book signing event for his latest book "A Herd of White Tales".
Jon, a lifelong Sumterite and a graduate of Edmunds High School in 1962, was a full-time outdoors writer for The Sumter Daily Item and the State Newspapers. He has authored 14 books, and produced over 1500 nonfiction and fiction articles in 66 different magazines.
He has received many awards including "The Best Newspaper Column Award" presented by the South Eastern Outdoors Press Association, "The Conservation Communications Award" given by the South Carolina Wildlife Federation and "The Sears Roebuck Foundation for Outstanding Contributions to the Wise Use and Management of the Nations Natural Resources".
Jon is also the founder of the South Carolina Duck Calling Championship.
